How to use multiple default routes for A-melding

This guide shows how to set up multiple default routes for A-melding in Accountflow, with one primary route and one or more backup routes. Useful for organizations with multiple companies, for example during a merger or when replacing a system user.

In short

You can set up one primary route and one or more backup routes for A-melding. Accountflow tries the routes in the order shown. A backup route is only used when routing determines that an earlier route is unavailable.

💡 Default routes apply to companies that don't have their own company- or group-level route. Custom routes always take priority.

Before you start

  • The system access must be verified and available for use as a default route.

  • You must always have at least one default route.

  • Make sure the system access has the right access for the companies it should cover.

Step by step: Add a default route

1. Go to A-melding System User

  • Go to Organization under Settings & Admin in the main menu.

  • Select the A-melding System User tab.

2. Find the system access

  • Scroll down to Altinn approval requests.

  • Find the verified system access you want to add as a default route.

3. Add the route

  • Select Add to default routes.

The new route is added at the bottom of the list as the next backup route.

💡 Wait until the message "Saving order
" disappears. The message "Default routes updated" appears once the change is saved.

Change the primary route or the order

Under Default routes, the route in position 1 is marked Primary route. The routes after it are marked Backup route 1, Backup route 2, and so on.

1. Move the route

  • Select the up or down arrow next to the route you want to move.

  • Move the route to position 1 if it should be the primary route.

2. Check the order

  • Arrange the other routes in the order Accountflow should try them. Changes are saved automatically.

Remove a default route

1. Remove the route

  • Find the route under Default routes.

  • Select Remove.

2. Check the order

  • Make sure the remaining routes are in the right order.

⚠ You can't remove the only default route. If you want to replace it, add the new route first, move it to position 1, and then remove the old one.

Example: merger

You can use this order during a transition period:

  1. Primary route: the system user of the original company

  2. Backup route 1: the system user of the acquiring company

Accountflow tries the primary route first. If routing determines that it's unavailable, Accountflow tries the backup route.

The backup route is used before submission starts. Accountflow doesn't resend the same request through the next route once submission has started.

If a route is unavailable

You'll see a warning under the route. Check the approval and access of the system user, and select Check status.

Accountflow only uses a route when it can handle the relevant company.
